International school of foraminifera
Since its inception in 2006, the International School on Foraminifera in Urbino has been the world’s leading training school devoted to the study of foraminifera. The three-week training course is held at the newly-refurbished Collegio Internazionale at the University of Urbino. The school boasts an international teaching faculty who are among the world’s leading experts in their respective research fields. The full course consists of approximately 60 hours of lectures and 60 hours of practical work.
The course consists of four modules: Introduction to the Foraminifera, smaller benthic foraminifera, larger benthic foraminifera, and planktonic foraminifera. Course participants have the option of registering for one or more modules, or participating in the entire course. The course includes a one-day field trip to visit the classic micropaleontological localities near Gubbio, Italy.
The course is primarily intended for young researchers at the PhD or MSc stages of their careers and industrial staff working with Foraminifera, Meiofauna, Micropalaeontology, Paleoceanography, Paleoecology, and Climate History. For industrial staff, additional training modules or individual tutorials may be arranged upon request after the course.

Talks and posters about ICDP and joint IODP-ICDP science are very welcome. PhD Students and Early Career Researchers are particularly encouraged to submit abstracts. Prizes will be available for students hosted at UK research institutions

Geological Society of America annual meeting
TMS sponsors the following session:
T61. Climatic and Biotic Processes through the Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic As Reconstructed from Microfossil Records. This session will provide an overview of microfossil contributions to the understanding of past climates and biotas. We welcome contributions from all microfossil groups aiding Paleozoic, Mesozoic and/or Cenozoic climatic and biotic reconstructions.

FORAMS 2022
The Organising Committee is proud to announce you FORAMS 2022, the next International Symposium on Foraminifera to be held in Perugia (Italy). All contributions regarding or involving Foraminifera are welcome.
We will host communications about new achievements coming from any research field involving foraminiferal biology and palaeontology, including genomics, experimental biology, growth analyses, environmental sensitivity, biomineralisation, biomonitoring, palaeoecology, biostratigraphy, palaeogeography, taxonomy, oil industry, geological applications, etc…
A call for sessions will open soon, to give all researchers the opportunity for highlighting particular topics. Pre-symposiums and post-symposium fieldtrips are planned to visit localities where both modern and fossil foraminifera can be observed/sampled.
We’ll be able to host workshops and scientific meetings upon request. Please keep checking the website as in the next few weeks it will be populated with info, news and calls for sessions!
