Become our TMS Foram Group Chair

Babette’s term as the TMS Foram Group Chair will be coming to an end in November, we are now looking for someone to take up this role.

Please get in touch with myself (b.hoogakker@hw.ac.uk) /Irina (irina.polovodova@marine.gu.se) if you are interested in taking up this role, and send us a short biogeography and motivation statement?

The deadline for expressing an interest will be 31st July 2024.

If there is more than one person interested in this role, there will be vote by the TMS foram group (similar to the TMS group secretary position).

Babette highly recommends getting involved with TMS through this role. You get to go participate in all the meeting and other committee business, and get to know the various TMS committee members. Typically the specialist group chairs serve two terms of two years. Due to the length and nature of the role it would be advantageous to have some post PhD experience.

The Micropalaeontological Society

Towards the advancement of the education of the public in the study of Micropalaeontology

The Micropalaeontological Society (TMS) exists “to advance the education of the public in the study of Micropalaeontology” and is operated “exclusively for scientific and educational purposes and not for profit”. It was initiated as The British Micropalaeontological Group (BMG) in 1970, following a proposal by Professor Leslie Moore of the University of Sheffield and several colleagues who wished to organise a group of palaeontologists with a mutual interest in the micropalaeontological study of British type sections and the provision of a forum for the communication of their results.
