Become the TMS Nannofossil Group Chair and Secretary

The terms of office for Odysseus, the current Chair, and Claire, the current Secretary of the TMS Nannofossil Group, will conclude in November 2024. We are seeking volunteers to step into these roles.

If you are interested, please contact Odysseus and Claire. Kindly include a short biography and a motivation statement in your email.

Application Deadline: September 30, 2024

Please note that if multiple candidates express interest in either role, the TMS Nanno Group membership will vote to determine the appointments.

Both Odysseus and Claire highly recommend getting involved with TMS and the Nannofossil Group. Serving as Chair or Secretary offers a wonderful opportunity to participate in meetings, contribute to committee business, and network with group members and the wider Society. The specialist group chairs serve a two-year term, with the possibility of extending for an additional two years.

Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need more information.

The Micropalaeontological Society

Towards the advancement of the education of the public in the study of Micropalaeontology

The Micropalaeontological Society (TMS) exists “to advance the education of the public in the study of Micropalaeontology” and is operated “exclusively for scientific and educational purposes and not for profit”. It was initiated as The British Micropalaeontological Group (BMG) in 1970, following a proposal by Professor Leslie Moore of the University of Sheffield and several colleagues who wished to organise a group of palaeontologists with a mutual interest in the micropalaeontological study of British type sections and the provision of a forum for the communication of their results.
